Nevada State Development Corporation (NSDC), takes one day a year to hold a staff retreat bringing together personnel from the Reno and Las Vegas offices. Half of the day is spent helping a charitable cause, and this year the group effort had 18 staff members working together at St. Jude’s Ranch for Children in Boulder City, Nevada.
Part of the time was spent clipping Campbell soup labels for St. Jude’s Campbell’s Soup Label Program where 1,500,000 UPC labels are enough to get a safe, new van for the kids. Other activities included sorting through electronic items that guests inadvertently leave behind at hotels such as blow dryers, cell phone and computer chargers, curling irons, etc. and getting things ready for the holidays by separating Christmas-themed decorations.
St. Jude’s Ranch for Children has a 40-year history of healing and caring for abused, abandoned and neglected children. Founded in 1967 by Father Jack Adam, St. Jude’s Ranch for Children opened its doors to a single child in need of love and care and has since nurtured more than 1,000 children.
St. Jude’s Ranch for Children has three campuses in Nevada and Texas.
